Pippi at the Circus played in the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus and Pophouse present a sparkling circus musical in collaboration with Astrid Lindgren AB, Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r, and Krall Entertainment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Take the proudest, bravest, and strongest we have. Add one of the world\u2019s probably most spectacular circus troupes \u2013 Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r \u2013 and original lyrics written by Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus. The result is a magnificent remake of Astrid Lindgren\u2019s classic story with Pippi as you have never seen her before. Welcome to a gravity-defying tornado without limits and a newly written, sensational circus musical, completely unique in its kind. Will you join the circus? “much<\/span> more<\/span> complicated<\/span> than<\/span> I<\/span> could<\/span> ever have<\/span> imagined<\/span>.”<\/span><\/h3>\n

“When the idea of Pippi at the Cirkus fell into place, I instantly thought \u201cwow, Astrid Lindgren. Can I really write about her characters? Is it right for me to do so?\u201d. The reason why I finally felt I could, was very much thanks to Astrid Lindgren AB, and especially Astrid\u2019s granddaughter Malin Billing, who backed up the whole thing and was excited about it. Malin carries Pippi in her DNA. She has been my dictionary and my guiding light throughout the process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pippi at the Cirkus has been my most fun music and stage project in many years. But it has also been a great challenge. I know quite well how to work with a musical, but the circus thing was something completely new to me. To merge the musical idiom with the circus\u2019 functions was much more complicated than I could ever imagine. Fortunately, I made this show together with incredibly professional people \u2013 such as Maria Blom, Tilde Bj\u00f6rfors, and Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r. Knowing that they knew what they did, made it possible for me to just hold my breath and dive into it. “<\/span><\/p>\n
